Asana pricing per user
Asana lists one price per user, but you don't buy any seat count you like. Past 5 users, seats come in steps. A team of 12 pays for 15 seats. That rule moves the real cost per person more than the plan you pick.

Prices are per user, per month, in US dollars.

The page says yearly billing lets you "Save up to 18%." In dollars, monthly billing costs $2.50 more per user on Starter ($30 a year) and $5.50 more per user on Advanced ($66 a year).
What Starter adds over Personal: no user seat limits, timeline and Gantt views, reporting dashboards, unlimited automations, forms, custom fields, and unlimited free guests.
What Advanced adds over Starter: unlimited portfolios, goals, resource management, and approvals and proofing.
How Asana's seat steps work
Asana's pricing FAQ says you grow a team by adding seats in these steps:

So a team of 6 buys 10 seats, a team of 12 buys 15, and a team of 33 buys 40. Plan your hires against these steps. Adding the 11th person moves a team from 10 seats to 15.
Guests don't take a paid seat. Starter and Advanced include unlimited free guests, which Asana describes as a way to collaborate with clients and partners at no extra cost. Your own staff need seats.

For a full year, 5 Starter seats cost $659.40 on annual billing and $809.40 on monthly. That is $150 more for the same 5 seats.
The real cost per user
Seat steps raise the cost per person when your team sits one or two people above a step. A team of 12 on Starter with annual billing pays for 15 seats, which is $164.85 a month. Split across 12 people, that is $13.74 per person, not $10.99.
Teams of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 pay the listed price per person. Every other size between 6 and 30 pays for empty seats.
AI requests and AI Studio credits
Asana AI comes with paid plans, but with a cap. Starter and Advanced each include 5 AI requests per user per month, up to 50 requests per account. Enterprise plans raise the cap to 250 per account. Past the cap, you pay per request:
- Prepaid packs: $0.50 per request, paid upfront and valid for your full billing cycle.
- Pay as you go: $0.60 per request, billed monthly in arrears for what you used.
A team that buys 100 extra requests in a prepaid pack pays $50 for them. On pay as you go, the same 100 cost $60.
AI Studio, the no-code workflow builder, comes with credits per billing account per month: 50K on Starter, 75K on Advanced, and 200K on Enterprise.

- Refunds: the FAQ says Asana does not offer refunds. If you cancel before renewal, you keep paid features until the end of the period you paid for.
