What Hetzner said
The Hetzner Docs page says: "The price adjustment took effect for new orders and cloud instance rescales starting on the 15 June 2026; 8 AM CEST." It adds: "For orders placed before 15 June 2026, but delivered after 15 June 2026, the previous prices will apply."
The press release says: "Existing server contracts will keep their terms and conditions and remain active." It names the cause: "the massive increase in procurement costs."
Who it hits and when
- New cloud orders from June 15, 2026, 8 AM CEST.
- Rescales of existing cloud servers. A rescale moves the server to the new price.
- Existing contracts keep their terms. Hetzner notes that some changes to servers with legacy pricing may switch them to the current pricing.
- Not affected: web hosting, managed servers, Server Auction servers, IPs, storage products, Load Balancers, Volumes, Snapshots, and Object Storage.
- We do not list dedicated server changes. The Hetzner page shows the new dedicated prices but not the old ones. We leave out the Singapore table and an earlier round in early 2026, since we could not cite old and new prices for them.
What to do before your renewal
Hetzner cloud bills by the hour with a monthly cap. Your existing servers keep their price, so the risk is in changes you make.
- Before you rescale a server, check the new price for the target size. The rescale moves it to the new price.
- Before you delete and recreate a server, check the new price. A new order pays the new price.
- Compare lines. The CX and CAX lines rose 25% to 35%, while CPX and CCX rose more than 100%.
- Compare the same size on other hosts. Our DigitalOcean price increase 2022 guide and Linode price increase 2023 guide show older rounds at other clouds. Our OVHcloud price increase 2026 guide covers the same RAM and storage squeeze at OVHcloud.
