Slack pricing per user
Slack charges per active member. It does not bill a flat team price. The price per user depends on the plan and on how you pay: annual billing costs less per month than monthly billing.
This guide shows the per-user prices from Slack's pricing page on October 19, 2026, how Slack's fair billing policy decides who counts, and what teams of 5 to 50 pay. Live data is on the Slack pricing page on SaaS Price Watch.

Prices are per user, per month, in USD.

The Free plan keeps 90 days of message history and allows up to 10 app integrations. Huddles and Slack Connect messages are 1:1 on Free. Pro and up keep all history and allow group huddles.
The 50% off offer
The pricing page shows Pro at $4.38 and Business+ at $9 with a "50% off for 3 months" label. The terms say the offer applies to Pro or Business+ bought online within the first 7 days of creating your team. It covers monthly billing. It does not apply to annual plans or to Enterprise+. After 3 months, the standard price applies.
Plan on the standard price when you budget.
Who you pay for: fair billing
Slack's fair billing policy covers plans bought on the website and paid by card or self-serve invoice. The rules:
- You pay for active members. A member who has not used Slack in over 28 days counts as inactive. Slack adds a prorated credit for the unused time.
- Paid seats: Workspace Owners, Workspace Admins, full members, and multi-channel guests.
- Free seats: single-channel guests and bots.
- New members are prorated. Slack's example: on Pro at $8.75 monthly, a member added with 20 days left in a 30-day period costs $5.83 for that period.
- Credits are not cash. The policy says credits are non-refundable and expire when the paid plan ends.
So a 10-person workspace where 3 people stopped using Slack pays for 7. On Pro monthly, that is $61.25 a month in place of $87.50.
If a client or contractor needs one channel, add them as a single-channel guest. They do not count toward the bill.
What a team pays on Slack

For a year, 10 users on Pro cost $870 on annual billing and $1,050 on monthly billing. On Business+, 10 users cost $1,800 a year on annual billing and $2,160 on monthly.
Pro or Business+?
Business+ costs about twice as much per user. The pricing page lists these as Business+ extras over Pro:
- SAML-based single sign-on and SCIM user management
- AI search, daily recaps, and file summaries
- AI steps and conditional branching in Workflow Builder
- Message activity analytics
If you do not need SSO or the extra AI features, Pro covers chat, unlimited history, group huddles, and unlimited apps. A 7-person team on Pro annual pays $50.75 a month.
