Google Workspace price increase 2023: Flexible Plan prices went up 20%

Google raised the price of Google Workspace Flexible Plan subscriptions in 2023. Business Starter went from $6 to $7.20 per user a month, Business Standard from $12 to $14.40, and Business Plus from $18 to $21.60. The Annual Plan kept the old prices. Google announced the change on February 15, 2023, and rolled it out from April 2023 through 2024. For the 2025 change, see our Google Workspace 2025 price increase page. Per user over a year on the Flexible Plan, Business Starter went from $72 to $86.40, Business Standard from $144 to $172.80, and Business Plus from $216 to $259.20.

For a 10-person team on Business Standard, the Flexible Plan went from $120 to $144 a month. That is $24 more a month, or $288 more a year. The same team on the Annual Plan kept paying $120 a month.

Google raised prices again in 2025. On October 25, 2026, the Google Workspace help page lists Business Standard at $16.80 per user a month on the Flexible Plan and $14 on the Annual Plan.

What Google said

The post says: "we are increasing the price of Flexible Plan subscriptions." It adds an Annual Plan for all editions bought through the website, open to new customers from March 14, 2023.

On timing: "the new pricing will roll out starting in April of this year and through 2024." Subscriptions with 10 or fewer user licenses did not change until January 2024. Google wrote: "Customers will be notified via the Google Workspace Admin Console at least 30 days before their price changes take effect."

The same post raised Enterprise Standard prices, without listing figures.

What to do before your renewal

  1. Check your payment plan in the Google Admin console under Billing, Subscriptions.
  2. Count active users. On the Flexible Plan you pay for each user each month.
  3. Compare the plans. At today's prices, Business Standard costs $2.80 less per user a month on the Annual Plan. The catch: on the Annual Plan you remove seats at renewal, not mid-term.
