AWS Lambda pricing

AWS Lambda charges for requests and for compute time. Requests cost $0.20 per 1 million. Compute is billed in GB-seconds, and the AWS examples use $0.0000166667 per GB-second on x86. The free tier covers 1 million requests and 400,000 GB-seconds a month. Figures come from the AWS Lambda pricing page on October 27, 2026. We do not track AWS Lambda on SaaS Price Watch yet.

Core Lambda prices

Item Price Free tier each month
Requests $0.20 per 1 million 1 million requests
Duration, x86, first tier $0.0000166667 per GB-second (AWS examples, US East N. Virginia) 400,000 GB-seconds
Provisioned Concurrency $0.0000041667 per GB-second configured none listed
Ephemeral storage over 512 MB $0.0000000309 per GB-second (US East Ohio) 512 MB per function

Duration tiers apply to total monthly use on one architecture, in one region, in one account. x86 tiers break at the first 6 billion GB-seconds, the next 9 billion, and over 15 billion. Arm tiers break at 7.5 billion, the next 11.25 billion, and over 18.75 billion.

Memory settings

You can set memory from 128 MB to 10,240 MB in 1 MB steps. CPU scales with the memory you pick. AWS shows a price per millisecond table by memory for US East (Ohio). Our raw read did not carry that table, so we do not copy it here.

Other Lambda compute types

Lambda Managed Instances charge $0.20 per million requests, plus EC2 instance prices, plus a 15% management fee on the EC2 on-demand price. Lambda Durable Functions charge $8.00 per million operations in the AWS example, with data written at $0.25 per GB and data retained at $0.15 per GB-month. The Web Functions examples bill requests at $0.30 per million.

AWS cost examples

AWS bases its examples on US East (N. Virginia). A mobile backend with 3 million requests at 120 ms and 1536 MB costs $2.33 in compute and $0.40 in requests. A message job with 7.44 million requests costs $249.49 a month. A 10 million request job with tenant isolation costs $368.74. A durable functions example totals $490.46.

The example unit typo

In the $249.49 example, one line reads 14.88 GB-s for monthly compute. The next line prices 14.88M GB-s. We use the AWS total as printed and do not resolve the unit line.

What we withhold

Our reads did not show the per GB-second rate for the second and third x86 tiers, or any Arm tier. The page loads those values from a script. We do not list them. A durable functions example uses $0.0000133334 per GB-second but does not name the architecture, so we do not label it as the Arm price.

FAQ

How much does AWS Lambda cost? Requests cost $0.20 per 1 million. AWS examples price x86 compute at $0.0000166667 per GB-second in US East (N. Virginia).

Is AWS Lambda free? There is a free tier. It covers 1 million requests and 400,000 GB-seconds a month.

What is a GB-second? It is memory in GB times run time in seconds. A 1024 MB function that runs for 1 second uses 1 GB-second.

How much is Provisioned Concurrency? $0.0000041667 per GB-second for the time you keep it on. You pay requests and duration on top.

Does Lambda charge for storage? Each function gets 512 MB of ephemeral storage at no charge. Extra storage costs $0.0000000309 per GB-second in US East (Ohio).

How we check

We read the AWS Lambda pricing page on October 27, 2026, in a raw read and a rendered read. Get an alert when a developer tool price changes.
