In late 2025 Evernote retired its Personal and Professional plans and moved users to two new plans, Starter and Advanced. Advanced costs $24.99 a month or $249.99 a year. Professional cost $17.99 a month or $169.99 a year, so a Professional user who moves to Advanced pays $80 more a year, a 47% rise. Starter keeps the old Personal monthly price of $14.99 and costs $99.00 a year, but it caps you at 1,000 notes and 20 notebooks. Evernote says price changes take effect no sooner than your next billing date. We do not track Evernote on SaaS Price Watch yet. More vendors are on the vendor list.

What changes on Starter

Starter has limits that Personal did not have. The FAQ lists up to 1,000 notes, 20 notebooks, 1,000 attachments, 100 tags, 5 GB of storage, and 3 synced devices. The November 2025 copy of the FAQ listed 1 GB of storage for Starter. Advanced has unlimited notes, notebooks, attachments, storage, and devices, with what Evernote calls safeguard limits.

What Evernote said

The FAQ says: "With the introduction of Starter and Advanced, we've retired the older Personal and Professional plans." On the rollout: "As part of a gradual rollout, users are being migrated to the new plans." On timing: "Price changes will take effect no sooner than your next scheduled billing date." On going back: "it is not possible to revert to these plans or receive customized discounts."

Who it hits and when

What to do before your renewal

  1. Open the Billing page in your Evernote account settings and check your plan and renewal date.
  2. Count your notes and notebooks. If you are under 1,000 notes and 20 notebooks, Starter may fit.
  3. If you need Advanced, compare the yearly plan with monthly billing. Yearly saves $49.89.
  4. If you do not agree with the new price, cancel before it takes effect. Access runs to the end of the billing period.
  5. If you pay through Apple or Google, check the price in that store.
